DUNNHUMBY'S GLOBAL
PARTNER SUMMIT

THE TASK AT HAND - EVENTS

New year, new challenges

dunnhumby's annual Global Partner Summit (GPS) brings together senior executives and decision makers from their clients and partners around the world. With a new location chosen each year, the design is reinvented in collaboration with the local market teams.

LOCATION - TOKYO, JAPAN

In my first year on the project, dunnhumby took GPS to Japan. Working with the pre-existing event logo and established dunnhumby brand, we pushed boundaries with a bold, graphic look. The team partnered closely with our Japanese colleagues to include local translations in areas which could also function if viewed through a purely aesthetic lens. The typeface for these translations went through a few iterations after it came to light that bold sans serifs are viewed as less professional in Japan.

At the event itself, clients were greeted with care packages upon arrival, which included a book from the guest speaker wrapped in a custom Furoshiki, a hand fan, a Welcome Pack and Store Tour Guide.

2020

LOCATION - VIRTUAL

Originally GPS 2020 was to take place in Milan, Italy. With the Covid-19 pandemic surging through the country, the GPS team quickly pivoted to create a fully virtual event. We highlighted six key cities dunnhumby offices were based and connected them all with fluid line graphics.

To design an interactive, 3D event space for dunnhumby's clients, we worked in collaboration with an external agency.

2021

LOCATION - LONDON STUDIO AND ONLINE HYBRID

Based on the concept of a 'virtual city', GPS 2021 was a hybrid event with a live London studio space and virtual attendance. We pitched and implemented a subtle logomark refresh as well as introducing the 'roundel' - the new accent element to house the date, location and year of the event.

2022

LOCATION - MONTRÉAL, CANADA

GPS 2022 returned in-person to Montreal, Canada. Building upon previous years, and with a renewed focus on global connection, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of GPS with a bold typographic design representing languages from the countries of our attendees.
